Bhiret El Biben

The Bhiret el Biben is a lagoon located in Zarzis in the governorate of Medenine in Tunisia.

On November 7, 2007, this wetland was recognized as a Ramsar site.

Ejdaria, an isthmus twenty-five kilometers long, with very fertile land, exploited only for fifty years, separates Lake Bahiret el Bibene from the sea.

In addition to visiting the center of the village, the small fishing port on the edge of the lake, very rich in delicious fish thanks to the salt intake from the alluvium of the sebkhas (saline depressions) …

There are panoramic places to visit on the west side of the isthmus, as well as a small private fish farm that breeds sea bream.
